Sometimes, life feels like a giant game of Jenga.

As women, we have many and equally demanding roles – daughter, wife, mother, friend, professional, colleague, boss – to name just a few.

And with each role come numerous, often conflicting, responsibilities – carpools, grocery shopping, meal prep, housekeeping, homework help, doctors’ appointments, work projects, deadlines, community obligations – the list goes on and on.

It can feel rushed – like all you do is a sprint from one demand to another.

When you focus, you can pull off successful client presentations – but at the cost of not having enough time to focus on your son’s history assignment.

You keep the PTA or the neighborhood association going – but your relationships are feeling the strain.

It can feel stressful – the pressure to multitask is making you detached or irritable. Everything needs your constant attention.

At some point, it’s all just too much. CRASH!

Your life feels like a marathon or an obstacle course.

And every time you successfully overcome one challenge – another takes its place.

Yet there’s only so much time in a day or a week.

It would take a superhuman bandwidth of time, energy, and resources to meet all your demands.

Superheroism doesn’t just exist. It comes at a cost.

Everyone has high expectations for you.

Sometimes, you feel like a fraud – nobody would believe that your lost, unsatisfied deep down.

You can hardly admit your struggles to yourself – let alone anyone else.

Secretly, you struggle through sleepless nights – haunted by thoughts of your to-do lists and oppressed by the weight of your responsibilities.

Sometimes, when you’re sure no one can hear you, you let it out, crying in the shower, crying alone in the car – or in those few elusive moments of alone time.

You wonder, “How did I even get to this place? Is this even what I wanted?”

But you keep going through the motions – forgetting the passion you had at the beginning of your journey. What else can you do? You feel you don’t have a choice.
